Crispy Cheezy Air-fried Tofu Featuring our Own Spice Mix

Crispy, golden, and packed with flavour, these bites are the ultimate plant-based protein boost. By using a light starch coating and your favorite JMCC spice blend, you get a crunch that rivals any deep-fried nugget—without the mess.

What You’ll Need

  • Air fryer (or oven with a lined baking sheet)

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Clean kitchen towel (to pat the tofu dry)

Ingredients

  • 1 block Firm tofu

  • 2 tbsp Corn or potato starch

  • 1 tbsp JMCC Cheezy Spice Blend

  • 2 tsp Avocado oil

  • Sea salt to taste

How It’s Done

  1. Prep the Tofu: Pat the tofu block dry. For maximum "crunchy surface area," tear the tofu into bite-sized pieces rather than cutting it.

  2. Coating Mix: In a large bowl, whisk together the starch and the JMCC Cheezy Spice Blend.

  3. Toss: Add the tofu pieces to the bowl and toss gently until every nook and cranny is coated.

  4. Arrange: Place the tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on a lined baking sheet. Drizzle with avocado oil and give them a quick shake.

  5. Cook: Air fry at 360°F for 15–20 minutes, or bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes.

  6. Flip: Halfway through the cooking time, shake the basket or toss the pieces on the tray to ensure an even, golden-brown crunch.

  7. Serve: Enjoy these hot as nuggets with your favourite dip, or toss them into a stir-fry. Don't forget the Jenny Marie’s Crackers on the side!
